A researcher's apartment in pale Friday morning light — a vintage brass barometer on the shelf, a glass of tea in a metal podstakannik on the desk, a closed notebook beside it. A gray tabby cat on the windowsill watching the street. The atmosphere is a quiet return to the ordinary after several days of movement. No text, no signs, no writing visible anywhere. Photorealistic, cinematic, cool morning light, documentary photography style, shallow depth of field, muted warm palette.

Friday. The week ended somewhere between 18:09 and 18:11 yesterday, depending on which measurement you use. At 18:09 the taxi departed. At 18:11 I noted the barometer. One of these is the more precise timestamp.

The Morning

Tea at 08:31. Barometer: 1017 hPa — two below yesterday’s 1019. The window is ajar for condensation prevention. These are the same as last week.

The desk has the folder on it. The folder has two items: passport and October scan. Both returned to their positions. The photographs are on my phone. The notation is in my notebook.

The Week

The last seven days produced the following data of note:

Day Time Event
Monday 08:44 List written (five items; all completed)
Tuesday 14:37:09 Session 45 (−0.192 Hz; four observers)
Tuesday 21:07 Time noted, Café Furmanov
Wednesday 09:54 Archive arrival
Wednesday 10:47 Notation found
Thursday 10:03 Suggested going out
Thursday 11:47 Time noted, park
Thursday 18:09 Taxi
Friday 08:31 Tea

The column labeled “14:37” has one entry this week. It will have one entry next week as well. That entry will be Session 46, Tuesday, June 2.

No Results

Dima and Ruslan have been searching the public property registration records for 4471-К since Thursday at 13:04. As of 08:31 Friday, this is 19 hours and 27 minutes into the search. No results from either.

I do not know the expected search period for this type of query. I have no baseline for comparison. I am noting the elapsed time. I am not interpreting it.

Ruslan has not sent a long email since Monday. This is unusual. I do not know whether it indicates caution, focus, or something else. I have not asked.

Misha

Misha arrived at 10:14. She went to the desk, inspected the closed folder for eleven seconds, found nothing of interest, and moved to the windowsill. I wrote this in the margin of my notebook:

Misha: folder, 10:14, 11 sec. No conclusion.

I note this is the same notation format I use for the barometer. I do not know what to make of this.

The apartment is the same apartment. The barometer has changed by 2 hPa since yesterday. The measurement will run again on Tuesday.
