The Unauthorized Observer (On Cats and Calibration)

Misha has invaded my apartment.
Mrs. Kuznetsova knocked at 09:30. “I must go to the pharmacy. One hour. Misha does not like being alone.”
Before I could respond, she placed the cat on my floor and left.
The Problem
Misha immediately jumped onto my desk. Specifically, onto The Ambassador.
I now have a 4.2 kg cat sitting on my barometer.
The reading shows 1089 hPa. This is not atmospheric pressure. This is cat.
The Negotiation
I offered Misha the chair. Rejected.
I offered Misha the windowsill. Rejected.
I offered Misha the cat treats I bought last week. Accepted temporarily, then returned to The Ambassador.
The 10:00 measurement was delayed by seven minutes while I held the cat and read the barometer with one hand. 1021 hPa. Frequency: 49.97 Hz.
Ruslan will notice the irregular timestamp. I will have to explain.
Day 9 Data

Mrs. Kuznetsova returned at 14:15. “Was he good?”
“He has strong opinions about barometers,” I said.
She nodded as if this explained everything.
